Code Enforcement/Building Inspector - Full Time -  Public Works Department

The City of Cochran is seeking a code enforcement officer/building inspector to join our Public Works team. This position is responsible for performing a variety of technical duties in support of the City’s local code enforcement program; monitors and enforces a variety of applicable ordinances, codes, and regulations related to zoning, land use, nuisance housing, building codes, health and safety, blight, graffiti, water waste, and other matters of public concern; and serves as a resource and provides information on City regulations to property owners, residents, businesses, the general public, other City departments and divisions, review approved development and site plans, inspect building foundations, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC approvals, issue approved building permits, and issue stop work due to unapproved projects, building violations or inaccurate plans in accordance to City Ordinances and ICC regulations.

This position is full-time 40 hours a week and does require after hours work and attending City meetings. This position is required to obtain a Level 1 certification through the Georgia Association of Code Enforcement (GACE) and an Inspection license through the International Code Council (ICC). This position is supervised by the Public Works Director and City Manager.

Water Technician- Fulltime – Public Works Department

The City of Cochran is seeking a water technician to join our Public Works team. This position is responsible for assisting in the maintenance, upkeep, and repair of the City’s water system and carrying out the City’s meter reading function performing utility locating function and overseeing plant operations as needed.
This position is a fulltime 40 per week and is in a after hour on call rotation. Position is supervised by the Public Works Department Water Supervisor.

Full-Time Maintenance Technician – Public Works Department

The City of Cochran is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to join our Public Works team. The maintenance technician will operate a Zero-Turn or other mower in City rights-of-way. This position also involves operating equipment, vehicles, tractors, chain saws, cutters and pruning saws. This position will also assist in maintaining the storm and sewer system as needed. A strong work ethic, and attention to detail and safety are essential and assisting with the maintenance.

This position is full-time 40 hours a week, working on call weeks on a rotation schedule. This position is supervised by the Public Works Department Street Supervisor.
